FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Your appointment
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required for clinic services.
Can I have my lab tests done at the clinic?
Yes. If your provider gives you a requisition during your visit, your samples can be collected at the clinic before you leave, without an appointment. There’s no collection fee when your samples are collected during your medical appointment: you only pay for your tests.
Can you become my permanent primary-care provider?
The clinic provides private episodic, preventive and selected ongoing care. Booking an appointment does not automatically establish comprehensive, permanent primary-care attachment.
Can you send information to my family doctor?
Yes. With your consent, relevant notes and results can be shared with your regular healthcare provider.
Will I get a prescription or a form?
A consultation does not guarantee a prescription or a form.
Costs & insurance
Are laboratory tests included in the appointment price?
Unless specifically stated, laboratory testing, collection fees, vaccines, medications, supplies and third-party charges are separate.
Will my private insurance reimburse the appointment?
Coverage varies by insurer and plan. We provide an official receipt, but patients should confirm eligibility directly with their insurance provider.
Are appointments covered by Medicare?
MedNexus Health is a private clinic and does not bill New Brunswick Medicare. Patients pay for their tests and services directly, and an official receipt is provided for private insurance.
